The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents two exciting jewelry events on Thursday April 11 that you won’t want to miss!
The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents Symposium: Jewelry of Tomorrow, an exploration of aesthetics, practices, and self-representation in the digital age through a panel discussion with the international artists and designers featured in the exhibition Non-Stick Nostalgia (NSN): Y2K Retrofuturism in Contemporary Jewelry, which opened on March 21.
And, the 19th edition of LOOT: MAD About Jewelry, an annual exhibition and sale of one-of-a-kind contemporary jewelry.
Join AJF for a night of MAD events & drinks Thursday, April 11, 4-8:30 p.m.
Bring a friend who is interested in AJF and connect with other members.
The evening will kick off at 4 p.m. in the lobby of MAD, where we’ll be greeted by Bryna Pomp, curator of LOOT: MAD About Jewelry, and MAD’s assistant curator, Barbara Gifford. We’ll head upstairs to enjoy the work of the 55 international artists who have been invited to participate in this year's edition of LOOT. At 5:30, we’ll meet back in the lobby to attend the NSN panel discussion. After you’ve had your fill of jewelry, we’ll regroup in the lobby at 7:30 p.m. and go out for drinks and conversation.
This event is hosted by AJF with AJF board members Bella Neyman and Bonnie Levine and AJF member Barbara Waldman. Purchase tickets to the symposium in person at MAD for a special AJF price of $10. LOOT is regularly $15, but is free for AJF members and their guests attending this event. There will be a cash bar. RSVP is required, please let AJF know if you plan on attending.
