Join AJF in celebrating the debut of Cristina Filipe's exhibition and book on the history of Portuguese jewelry. Experience the jewelry culture of Portugal and discover the unique charms and traditions that Lisbon has to offer.
We'll kick things off with a welcome dinner on your arrival day, Thursday, September 12. The hotel base will be the Four Seasons in Lisbon, where we’ll meet every morning and end every evening. Please make a reservation directly with the hotel as soon as possible if you choose to stay with AJF’s group. The itinerary will start each day around 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. and end around 9:00 p.m., after dinner. The trip will include a wide range of visits to galleries and artists' studios and homes; curator-led tours of museums and a royal palace; a visit to the Ar.Co school; and a tour of Lisbon—all with a focus on jewelry. We'll enjoy Portuguese culture and traditions, the delicious food, camaraderie with the artists, gallerists, collectors, and curators we meet along the way, and each other. There will also be free time for shopping, sightseeing, or museum/gallery hopping. The trip will end after a farewell dinner on Tuesday evening, September 17. A final itinerary will follow during the summer.
COST: The total cost of the trip will be $2,400, which includes five lunches and four dinners inclusive of taxes and gratuities, entertainment, bus transportation, and all museum and event entry fees. A nonrefundable $500 donation is included in the registration fee. Your hotel and airfare costs are not included in the registration fee.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS: The Four Seasons hotel will be the hub of AJF's activities during our trip. It isn't required that you stay there, but be aware that we’ll be picking up and dropping off from that location each day. There’s no block of rooms reserved so make your reservation directly through the hotel or through your travel agent as soon as possible to ensure availability. CANCELLATIONS: The registration fee includes a $500 nonrefundable donation. If after registering for the trip you’re unable to attend, you’ll receive a full refund, minus the nonrefundable donation, if you notify AJF of your change of plans by August 1, 2019.
