AJF Presents: “Psychoanalysis in Silver: The Fantastical Jewelry of Sam Kramer,” a talk by author Toni Greenbaum, plus a sale and signing of her new book, Sam Kramer: Jeweler on the Edge.
Join Art Jewelry Forum and Arnoldsche Art Publishers for Toni Greenbaum's presentation of her new book on American studio jewelry, Sam Kramer: Jeweler on the Edge. Greenbaum captures Kramer’s spirit, innovations, and humor as one of the most influential—and indeed most eccentric—of the American modernist jewelers. His expressive, organic work and surreal workshop, located on West 8th Street in New York's Greenwich Village, paved the way for other mid-20th century metalsmiths, and for many more working today. Included is an exhibition of selected studio jewelry pieces by Sam Kramer, accompanying the book sale and signing. Coffee/pastries included. Max-Josef-Straße 4, 80333, Tel. +49 78 5119 298. There is no charge for this event but please let AJF know you'll be attending.
