AJF in Conversation -- COLLECTING
Thursday, March 8, 2018
Galerie Handwerk - Event Space | Max-Joseph-Straße 4, 80333 Munich, Germany | 9:00AM - 10:30AM
Topic: The Collector's Responsibility
Moderator: Toni Greenbaum
Panelists: Susan Cummins, Jeroen Redel, Catherine Rose, and Stephanie Schuitemaker
The panel is called The Collector's Responsibility and with the help of Susan Cummins, Jeroen Redel, Catherine Rose, and Stephanie Schuitemaker, we will investigate how the collector influences the development of the art jewelry field. Each collector comes with a different opinion and with varied interests to answer questions such as:
- What are some of your favorite pieces? And what are you looking for?
- Do collectors have any responsibility to artists, galleries and museums? What are they?
- Have you actively promoted art jewelry ,and how?
- How do you keep track of your collection?
- What importance do articles and books have to visual audiences?

AJF in Conversation -- WRITING
Friday, March 9, 2018
Galerie Handwerk - Event Space | Max-Joseph-Straße 4, 80333 Munich, Germany | 9:00AM - 10:30AM
Topic: The Writer's Responsibility
Moderator: Bella Neyman
Panelists: Ilaria Ruggiero, Urmas Lüüs, Katia Rabey
How can we encourage writers to take on contemporary jewelry? Should artists take the lead? And are we afraid of critical discourse? What prompted these panelists to answer AJF's Open Call? These and other pressing questions will be answered. The field is focused on growing its collector base, and writers can be our greatest advocates, the link between our insular community and the greater world.
Entry for each event is $10/€8. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended.
Coffee and pastries are included in the entry fee.
