See Santa Fe through the lens of Native and art jewelry with AJF!
Even though you may have been to Santa Fe, you haven’t been to Santa Fe with AJF! This trip will focus not only on contemporary art jewelry but also on the arc of historical and contemporary Native jewelry over the past 150+ years. Learn about this important category of jewelry against the backdrop of Santa Fe, with its legendary history, culture, architecture, art scene, and award-winning cuisine! It promises to be an exciting and rich jewelry and cultural adventure. Join AJF and fellow jewelry enthusiasts on this unique three-and-a-half-day trip to The City Different.
Highlights of the trip include: (subject to change)
- Visits to several galleries featuring contemporary and Native jewelry, including Patina, form & concept, and Shiprock Gallery, where we’ll meet with Native and contemporary artists
- Private tours of exhibitions at museums focused on historical and contemporary Native jewelry, including the Wheelwright Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, and the Millicent Rogers Museum
- Visit the home of an internationally known ceramics collector who is a leading scholar and critic on modern and contemporary ceramics—an experience curated just for AJF
- Spend time with legendary jewelry maker Bob Ebendorf and learn about his long and varied practice
- Meet jeweler, educator, and curator Brian Fleetwood, a citizen of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma, on a private tour of The Stories We Carry, the exhibition he curated at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts
- Visit the beautiful home and studio of maker Linda Threadgill, whose practice includes jewelry, vessels, and sculpture
- Take a day trip to Taos to the Millicent Rogers Museum. It was established as a memorial to Rogers, whose personal collections of jewelry, weavings, and art form the foundation of its collections
- Tour the Taos Pueblo, a World Heritage site, and explore the Taos Plaza
- Free time to explore Canyon Road and the Railyard Arts District
- And, of course, dine on some terrific Southwestern food!
The trip will begin at 12:30 pm on Monday, May 12, and conclude after dinner on Thursday, May 15.

COST
The total cost of the trip is $1,850, which includes 3 dinners, 2 lunches, and all transportation costs during the trip, as well as museum fees and tours. A $250 donation is included in the registration fee. Your hotel and airfare costs are not included in the registration fee.
Please make a reservation directly with the base hotel as soon as possible if you choose to stay with AJF’s group. It isn't required that you stay at the recommended hotel, but be aware that we’ll be picking up and dropping off from that location each day. There’s no block of rooms reserved, so make your reservation directly through the hotel or through your travel agent as soon as possible to ensure availability.
AJF BASE HOTEL
You can stay anywhere you choose, but the group will meet here every morning and be dropped off here at the end of the day.
Inn and Spa at Loretto. This 4-star hotel celebrates the authentic Southwestern style and culture of New Mexico, and is the most photographed building in the state! With a premier location in the heart of Santa Fe’s historic Plaza, it has restaurants, a pool, and an award-winning spa.
If you’re planning to join this trip and stay here, please make your reservation ASAP, as there’s a large convention in town just after our trip and they’ll be staying at this hotel. We always recommend making a refundable reservation in case of unforeseen circumstances. We can suggest other hotels if you prefer to stay elsewhere. Check in May 11; check out May 16, 2025 (depending on your travel plans).
CANCELLATIONS
The registration fee includes a $250 nonrefundable donation. If after registering for the trip you’re unable to attend, you’ll receive a full refund, minus the nonrefundable donation, if you notify AJF of your change of plans by March 15, 2025. If AJF cancels the trip, we will issue a full refund.

You must be a current AJF member at the Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Titanium level ($500 or above) to attend this trip.
